Dear Friends,
What’s life without believing in a little magic?
With roots in Greek mythology, the phoenix is a symbol of hope, a new chance in life, and of better things to come. The phoenix is known for its ability to regenerate itself after bursting into flames. Like a phoenix rises from ashes, humans are also capable of picking themselves up and changing their lives. This is especially true in instances when support is provided to transform new beginnings into reality.

All four of the projects that Community Lenders provided financing for this year are affordable housing and shining examples of how residents are starting anew. Is it any wonder then why the 2025 annual report theme is “Rising Like A Phoenix. Renewal. Regeneration. Hope.”?
The Willows at Valley Run provides a safe haven for families to raise their children and individuals to feel secure. This newly constructed community in Chester County is filled with amenities to make their new life feel easier and stable.
Another new construction project was Allegheny West Plaza, a beautiful, modern building that replaced unsightly, blighted ones. Located in Philadelphia, it’s now the place many seniors are proud to call their home.
Community Lenders’ activities were not limited to these two impactful projects. This was the second year in a row that we provided financing for Compound Impact. Similar to last year, the nonprofit purchased and renovated a home in Philadelphia, referred to as Compound Impact Alpha, for a refugee family in need. As families transition to their new life in the U.S., they are provided a safe and reliable place to call home. Last, but certainly not least, 3000 North Broad Street LP provides 10 units of affordable housing for families in Philadelphia.
Community Lenders is immensely proud of these affordable housing projects this year. We hit a milestone of $100 Million in total loans closed over the past 25 years! Thank you to our member banks and community representatives for helping us reach that number and bringing hope into these communities. We couldn’t do it without you!
Best Regards,
Audrey McMichael
